Machine Vision and Multi-End Effector

Project

This project was a demonstration of the implementation of computer vision,  a multi-purpose end effector, and end effector compliance to install components onto a motherboard.

Solution

Combining computer vision in the second workstation and using fiducials on the motherboard, the robotic arm uses precision placement to install the CPU, as well as pneumatic compliance for delicate part placement.

Result

The robotic demonstrator arm was a success in demonstrating computer vision and using a complex end effector. It showcased to potential customers our ability to reduce capital investment while augmenting the functionality of an automated system.
